Take A37 to Dorchester………..approaching Dorchester at mini roundabout take A35 (By Pass) ….2nd exit at next roundabout… heading for Poole…….Continue on A35 (By Pass) to next roundabout (by football stadium)………. Straight across....towards Poole….continuing on A35….At 4th roundabout take 3rd Exit….signed Stinsford, Tincleton, Higher Bockhampton…Continue past the Agricultural College (Kingston Maurward) for approx ¾ mile. At first Cross roads turn Left …to Higher Bockhampton, also signed Hardy’s Cottage…… continue for approx ¾ mile to Thatched House on right (Melbury)…..Turn Right here… continue down the hill bearing right at the end…. Right again into main entrance….parking and reception on Left of main entrance.

From London – Poole

Take A35 from Bere Regis…. Continue on A35 past Puddletown…..just after passing Puddletown, the dual carriage-way goes up a hill, forest on left and right, down the hill…. Keep in left lane and when you see the bridge over the dual carriageway approaching (just where the dual carriageway starts to return to single carriageway) indicate Left….turn Left, signed to Higher Bockhampton…continue up the hill, down again until you reach a curved thatched house (“Melbury”)….Turn Left here, signed to Thomas Hardy’s cottage….continue down the hill, bear right at the end and turn right into our main entrance…. Car park and reception is left of the main entrance.
