Don’t leave your trusted friend behind, bring your horse on your holiday to Greenwood Grange.
We offer a lovely on site paddock with field shelter with exclusive use for two horses and plenty of safe onsite parking for your horse box. There is a fee of £100 to hire the paddock for your stay – suitable for 2 horses.
We can organise hay, feed and bedding if required or if you fancy a full livery service this can also be arranged (at extra cost) and you just enjoy your riding in this beautiful countryside.
You will find superb bridlepaths direct from Greenwood Grange into Puddletown forest, lots of lovely tracks to explore. We can also offer accompanied hacks with an experienced local rider (at extra cost). Please see our suggested hacking routes below or simply contact Lynn in Reception for further details.
A quick hack across fields will give you access to Kingston Maurward college and the equestrian centre, why not take part or watch some of the many events held here.

Puddletown Forest is an attractive, large and varied woodland with options for short and long circular walks along its network of bridleways. The forest is extremely diverse in its fauna and flora, with trees ranging from oak to elm and a huge range of wildlife. Expect some heathland areas and some lovely extensive views across the countryside.
There are various circular rides in the forest to enjoy:
The River Track – Lower Bockhampton
Head towards Lower Bockhamnpton over the first bridge and immediately you will see a signpost on the right which will take you onto the path that follows parallel to the river. This ride from Greenwood Grange has beautiful views and takes approximately an hour.
From Greenwood Grange at the top of the hill you will see a signpost on your right, proceed through the gate and follow the Bridlepath signs to Kingston Maurward and Stinsford. This will take you across fields and leads you onto the path along the River.
